PROVISIONING SPOTLIGHT: BROWNE TRADING COMPANY

Our next segment in our Provisioning Spotlight series is with Browne Trading Company. Specializing in fine caviar, smoked & fresh seafood, they will deliver directly to your yacht. We are so fortunate to work with world renowned provisioners located right down the street, and our Guest Experience Manager Katherine Meservier had the pleasure of interviewing their National Account Manager Grady McCormick!

What is your role with Browne Trading Company?

I (Grady) am a National Account Manager for Browne Trading.

What services/products do you offer?

We offer high quality fresh and frozen seafood, as well as caviar and smoked products from our in-house smoking facility.

How long have you been working with clients in the yachting industry?

I've been working with Yachts since I started at Browne Trading over two years ago.

What are the most commonly requested service/item you receive from yacht clients?

The most commonly requested service I get from yachts is portioning and vacuum packing all of the seafood on the order.

What is the most obscure item that you needed to procure for yachts?

Gold leaf, and really exotic or rare fish.

How long does it take to put together orders for yachts, and how far in advance would you suggest making inquiries?

It usually takes at least a couple of days to source all the different products and make sure they are packed to the ship's specifications. More heads up is always better!

What is your favorite product, and why?

My favorite product is caviar, because I get to taste it for quality every day!

What is the #1 piece of advice that you would give to all of your clients?

My best advice is plenty of communication. The more I know, the better I can make sure everyone's needs are met. We are a small company, and high quality fish doesn't grow on trees. It takes time and effort to bring in all of our products from around the world, and a lot of times those products are in limited quantities.

For Fun: If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?

My superpower would be the ability to breath underwater, so no need for scuba gear/snorkels!

A big thank you to Grady McCormick and Browne Trading for their support, and for providing the best service to our clients. To place your order with Grady, contact him here or stop by their shop located at 262 Commercial St, Portland, ME 04101
